Rachel Lee - Founder, Editor in Chief, Senior Writer (May 2023- Present)
Hello! My name is Rachel. I am South Korean and a Senior at Singapore American School. I have a broad interest in many disciplines within the social sciences—especially international politics, world history, and criminal psychology. I have a profound interest in exploring and understanding the wider world through my interactions with people from diverse backgrounds. Along with the social sciences, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and learning and ISJoSS serves to bridge these passions.
Sawyer Blass - Senior Writer (June 2023- Present)
Hi! My name is Sawyer. I am Filipino American and a Senior at Singapore American School. I am super interested in anything really to do with the social sciences — particularly, government, politics, history, and psychology. I am super excited to showcase my passion for the social science discipline alongside a bunch of my friends who are similar passions. Besides the social sciences, I love to read — specifically, psych thrillers, cheesy romance novels, or mystery’s.
Hasan Belgaumi: Senior Editor (June 2023-Present)
Hello! I am Hasan, and I am a Pakistani-American Senior at Singapore American School. I have a deep passion for both writing and history, and everything to do with social sciences. I enjoy exploring unique connections between distant places, and spend far too much time looking at maps. I am excited to write for ISJoSS and nurture my social-science passion.
Kaitlyn Zhu - Senior Writer (June 2023- Present)
Hello! My Name is Kaitlyn Zhu and I’m from the USA, but I’ve lived in Northern Ireland, China, Thailand, and Singapore. I am a Senior at Singapore American School. I’m thoroughly interested in history and the arts. I love any part of the social sciences and I like to keep an open mind to a broad range of perspectives across the world.
Nasheen Gibbs - Writer (August 2023- Present)
Hello! I am a Senior at the Williston Northampton School in Massachusetts. I love learning and research topics relating to psychology, history, and government. I’m proud to work on this project along with this talented group of scholars for ISJoSS. The experience has been a great opportunity to showcase my skills and practice my analytical writing. Other than the social sciences, I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and staying active with friends.

Hello! My name is Uee Jung from South Korea and I am currently a Senior in Seoul International School. I have a vast interest in all sectors within Social Studies, particularly Art History and Psychology. I am also very passionate in Fine Arts and throughly excited to utilize my artistic skills for ISJoSS!
Khadija Fall - Senior Writer (June 2023- Present)
Hi! My name is Khadija (Khady). I am a Senegalese American and a Senior at the International Community School of Abidjan in the Ivory Coast. As a third culture kid, I am interested in international relations and how looking at social issues through an intersectional lens can aid us in solving global issues. My main interests are concentrated in international politics, legislation, and social and climate advocacy. I am very excited to express my passion for the social sciences through ISJoSS! Besides international relations, my other hobbies include reading, listening to true crime podcasts and spending time with my friends!
Andrew Barth - Writer (December 2023- Present)
Howdy! I’m Andrew from the mountains of the great silver state, Nevada. I’m a Senior at Bishop Manogue High School and I love the outdoors. I particularly love classical history and languages and am in my third year as a national delegate of the Junior Classical League and fourth year as a state board member. I hope that our global community of writers at ISJoSS will inspire others.
Aryan Pershad - Writer (March 2024- Present)
Hi! I’m Aryan, and I’m from all over, really. Chicago is home but so is Singapore, and I’m in my senior year of high school. I’m interested in a broad range of topics, from biotech & machine learning to history and economics. What interests me the most, though, are the intersections between those disciplines; a passion which I hope to inspire in the readers of ISJoSS!
